How to use a proposal template
Start a new proposal from a pre-built template instead of a blank page.
Templates save hours. Once you've saved a proposal as a template, you can start new proposals from it with all the line items, pricing, and terms already filled in.
Start a new proposal
Go to Proposals → New Proposal, or click + Proposal on any contact's detail page.
Pick the client and title
Same as a blank proposal — pick the client and give it a title.
Click "Start from template"
At the top of the new-proposal form, you'll see two tabs: Blank and From template. Click From template.
Browse your templates
Kaliun shows all your saved proposal templates. Filter by project type (Kitchen, Bath, Addition, etc.) if you have a lot of them.
Click one to preview — you'll see all the categories and line items before committing.
Click "Use this template"
Kaliun clones every category, line item, cost code, and markup into your new proposal. It opens in edit mode so you can tweak for this specific job (adjust quantities, update pricing to match your latest costs, etc.).
Creating a template
You can save any proposal as a template for future use:
- Open any proposal (draft or sent — doesn't matter)
- Click ⋯ in the top-right
- Pick Save as Template
- Name it and optionally add a project type tag
- Save
The template is immediately available on new proposals.
Editing a template
Under Settings → Templates → Proposals, click any template to edit it. Changes to the template don't affect proposals you've already created from it — each proposal is an independent copy.
Tip: review your templates once a quarter to update pricing. Costs drift, and stale templates lead to underbids.
